Preschool operator NTUC First Campus (NFC) announced on 9 November 2022 that an additional 4,000 places will be made available at its centres over the next two years.
The move will see the total number of preschool places offered at its 170 My First Skool (MFS) and Little Skool-House (LSH) centres island wide brought up to 30,000 places.
The expansion plan is in line with their mission to provide excellent childcare services to young families in all neighbourhoods in Singapore.
NFC shared this during its 45th anniversary celebration at My First Skool at 6 New Punggol Road, which was attended by Education Minister Chan Chun Sing.
In a social media post, Mr Chan thanked NFC for its efforts at nurturing children holistically.
He said that the Ministry of Education (MOE) will “continue to partner parents and operators so that our children can have access to quality preschool education and be anchored with a solid and holistic foundation from the very beginning.”
Beyond ensuring strong fundamentals in math and literacy, NFC aims to nurture three vital foundational skills for a lifetime of growth: relational skills; global citizenship; digital intelligence skills.
This will augment the curriculum in its preschools.
In addition, NFC offers a range of programmes to support children with special learning needs and will continue to develop new programmes to meet new needs.
Currently, NFC’s team of 90 multi-disciplinary professionals – such as classroom co-facilitators, in-house therapists, learning support educators and early interventionists – supports 1,800 children with learning and development needs every year.
