What is the NTUC Hardship Grant?

The NTUC Hardship Grant is part of the NTUC U-Care Programme. It supports lower-income union members by providing a one-time grant from NTUC donation funds if they experience hardship due to one of the following non-industrial circumstances:
  • Death
  • Total and permanent incapacity
  • Serious chronic medical condition*
  • Registered fire or flood victim

 

* Pre-existing serious chronic medical conditions diagnosed before the applicant became a Union Member will not be considered.

Who is eligible for financial assistance?

NTUC union members must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the grant:

  1. Total Monthly Gross Household Income of $1,800 and below; or Per Capita Income of $500 and below if gross household income exceeds $1,800
  2. Minimum of 6 months of continuous paid-up union membership at the point of application
